Medal Test Procedures

Here you will find all the information needed with regards to the next scheduled Medal Test Day.​

Examiner

Bellow are examples of the shoes required for Medal Tests and Competitions where applicable.

Trainers will inform Parents, Students and Guardians well in advance of regulation shoes required for Medal Tests and or competitions.

Medal Test Dress Code

  • Tiny Tots – Annual Award
    • Girls Studio Leotard
    • Plain Black tights (Full Length, 3/4 or mid thigh)
    • Optional: 2 piece form Pre-Bronze
  • Dancers will be supplied the correct regulation Slowdance, Rock n’ Roll and Hustle skirts on the day of examination.
  • Shoes
    • Foundation, Freestyle, Slowdance and Disco
      • Black/Tan Jazz Shoes (Split Sole)
      • May be danced bare foot
      • Optional: Dance Paws
    • Rock n’ Roll
      • Black/Tan Jazz Shoes (Spit Sole) or Dance Sneakers
    • Hustle
      • Pre-Bronze – Bronze
        • Black/Tan Jazz Shoes (Split Sole)
        • Optional: Juveniles may wear Latin American Block Heels only
          1 1/2 inch only (40mm)
        • Open or closed toe permitted
      • Silver Bar – Annual Award 
        • Compulsory Latin American Shoes
        • Open or closed toe permitted
  • Hair and Makeup
    • French Plait or Bun (Marks will be deducted for untidy hair)
    • Day make up permitted.
  • Tiny Tots – Badge 3
    • Plain Black Gymnastic Style Pants
    • Optional: Black Gymnastic Style Shorts or anything similar in style that allowed the boys full range of movement.
    • Optional: Black Tights
    • Boys Black Studio Leotard
  • Pre-Bronze – Annual Award
    • Black Latin Style Trousers
    • Mens White Studio Leotard
  • Shoes

Important Information

  • It comes highly recommended that private lessons are booked with respective trainers for all students who have have only just joined the studio or students that would like to brush up on technique.
  • No student will be permitted to do an examination if fees are not up to date.
  • Numbers will be supplied on the day of the Exam.
  • Certificates and medals will be awarded to dancers in class within 2 weeks of the exam date unless complications arise and delivery of certificate and medals are delayed.
  • No marks will be read out in class.
